Can I buy my California contractor license bond online?

Yes. Contractor license bonds are routinely quoted and purchased online, and the surety then files the bond with CSLB, electronically for most sureties. Through Plumbers Pro, the bond is placed by Pembroke Insurance Solutions, a licensed agency, with a surety licensed by the California Department of Insurance.
Our online quote-and-purchase application through our surety partner is being activated. Until it is live, the bond request form goes to a licensed producer who sends the surety's short application and returns the quote, usually the same business day; payment is made securely with the surety, never on this website. When the embedded application is live, most contractor's bonds will quote instantly and the purchase completes on the page.
Whichever route you use, check CSLB's license record a week or two after purchase to confirm the bond was recorded. Purchased is not the same as filed.
